Spoiler: It’s super simple
If you wish to uninstall themes, I have covered it in another post, click here to read it.
Note:
Following 3rd party, preloaded apps CAN be uninstalled
- Amazon, Facebook, PhonePe, Netflix, Dailyhunt, Microsoft Office, UC Browser (and other local apps depending on your country)
- Even Mi’s own “Community” and “Mi Store”
However, it’s NOT possible to uninstall essential system Mi apps (essential as per Xiaomi) like Screen recorder, compass, notes, drop and Google Apps like Play Movies, Duo, etc (as Android Manufacturers have to install fix set of Google Apps to license “Play Store” on any phone)
With that in mind, let’s get started. POCO F1 comes preloaded with tons of apps (bloatware) like Microsoft Office, Facebook, Netflix, and many more which probably you will never use. If you are new to Xiaomi Phones or MIUI just like me, upon initial inspection you might feel it’s impossible to uninstall them.
See there’s no uninstall button on long pressing.
But it’s just an illusion. A quick switch to a third-party launcher like Nova shows that these apps are actually uninstallable.
Voila, problem solved. So why am I still typing this blog? Well because, if you don’t want to switch to Nova and continue using POCO launcher then here are the steps:
- Long press on an app icon, and on the buttons that appear select “App info“
- On the bottom of the screen that appears there is a tiny “Uninstall” button. Press it.
- Press “Okay” and you are done.
That’s it for this short tutorial 😄
thank you so much. finally this dailyhunt shit is gone and stops annoying me with pop up notifications
