KDE Connect: The greatest ecosystem app
KDE Connect is a free and Open-Source app that is available for virtually every mainstream operating system: desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux) mobile (android, iOS) and enables a seamless connected experience across all your devices.
Just tell me: How to sync the clipboard!
- Download KDE Connect from here on all the devices that you wish to sync the clipboard across
- Complete the initial setup process after installing. (Just a few taps, it varies per platform. Don’t worry the app will guide you. Just follow the instructions that appear when using the app for the first time)
- Make sure both devices are in the same network and then pair them
- Optional: Make sure “Clipboard sync” is enabled on both devices (Here are steps for configuring)
- That’s it. Now just copy on one device and paste it onto another.
Extra step (just in case): Some platforms might require you to press the “Send clipboard” button.
Some platforms can have limitations on automatic background syncing capabilities (like iOS).
- Open the app on the device from which you wish to send the clipboard
- In the app, select the device from the list of devices to which you wish to send the clipboard
- click/tap on the “Send clipboard” button
- Now on the other device, you can “paste” directly.
Configuring Clipboard
This is an optional configuration step. If everything was configured properly in the initial setup of app you might not need them
Check if clipboard sync is enabled on both devices. Therefore follow the below steps on both devices.
- Open the App
- Select the target device from under the list of devices
- make sure “Clipboard sync” is enabled.
- If you are on mobile, tap the three-dot menu on the top right and select “plugin settings”. Now you should be able to see thee clipboard sync option
